Arco di Clemente XIV – PIazza Ganganelli, Santarcangelo di Romagna

The beautiful arch dedicated to Pope Clement XIV, a native son of Santarcangelo di Romagna, frames the central piazza Ganganelli beautifully. 8 years in the making, the arch was conceived as a tribute to the newly elected Pope Clement XIV in 1769. It was designed by Imola born artist Cosimo Morelli, and finished in 1777 – three years after the death of Clement XIV.
