When all hope had almost gone, as rescuers struggled through the rubble, back in April during the aftermath of the deadly Abruzzo earthquake, amazingly young Romagnola student Eleanora Calesini was pulled out from the carnage alive after being trapped for more than 42 hours.
That was April 6th, and only now – after numerous operations – is Eleanora returning home to her town of Mondaino, outside of Rimini. Today the town holds an official celebration to welcome the young woman back home, and at the same time to give thanks to the various rescue and emergency services who worked tirelessly to save as many people as possible after the deadly quake.
