Undoubtedly one of the highlights for the summer season in Rimini- at least for fans of intelligent indie music – will be the two back-to-back concerts by Morrisey in the Adriatic Riviera’s most famous concert venue, Rimini’s Velvet.
The concerts have just been announced for the dates 13th and 14th of July, and at the moment look like being the last dates on his Summer European Tour for the album Years of Refusal.
Velvet is a medium sized venue, so it’s very likely that these shows will sell out fast (particularly given that Morrisey has a huge cult following in Italy).
His latest album has been described “as a gratifying shock: It’s his most vital, entertaining, and savage record since 1994’s Vauxhall and I. Rather than try and reinvent himself, Morrissey has rediscovered himself, finding new potency in his familiar arsenal. Morrissey’s rejuvenation is most obvious in the renewed strength of his vocals.
