Italy’s hottest heart-throb, actor Riccardo Scamarcio takes some time off from the shooting of his latest film l’Uomo Nero – directed by Sergio Rubini, and co-starring Scamarcio’s partner Valeria Golino – to come to Rimini to dj for a night.
Scamarcio will be taking to the decks in one of Rimini’s longest established and famous discos, Altromondo, this evening, following in the footsteps of other celebrities including Asia Argento (actress, director, daughter of Dario Argento, and if that wasn’t enough also an aspiring dj) and former Skunk Anansie vocalist Skin.
It’s one of his first outings as a dj – he’s apparently done a couple of rehearsals in smaller venues in recent months – so there’s no telling what type of music fans can expect – although speculation is that Italian chart toppers Negramaro will feature, given that they come from the same region as Scamarcio – Puglia. Other possibilities? Tiziano Ferro, in whose video, Ti scatterò una foto, Scamarcio made a cameo, and likewise Milanese rockers Le Vibrazioni.
Scamarcio, who grew up in the town of Trani, moved to Rome at the age of 16 to pursue a career in acting, and since then has become one of the most sought after actors of his generation. His first film role, albeit a small one, was in the critically acclaimed Best of Youth
Altromondo is famous for having brought both James Brown and Ray Charles, amongst many others, to Rimini for concerts during the 1970s. These days it’s equally (in)famous for its ‘Schiuma Parties’ where the entire dance floor is filled with schiuma or foam – plus the big name djs it regularly hosts.
An interesting night – worth checking out.
